Level 1

In the past seven years, the Level 1 course has benefited over 100,000 users in 170+ countries. Students and graduates, new industry entrants, personnel in ancillary services, and others, have all used it to grow their knowledge of how well control incidents can occur, their consequences – and how they can be prevented.

IWCF takes great pride in our global community’s diversity and acknowledges the importance of catering to various language needs. In addition to the current English language, the Level 1 course is now available in Modern Standard Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese.

When enrolling in the course, users have the option to select their preferred language for completion. Offering this course in multiple languages gives more users the opportunity to complete the course in their native language, aligning with our mission to improve competency globally.

The Level 1 course has 7 modules which cover the following topics:

• Overview of Oil and Gas
• Life Cycle of a Well
• Drilling Rigs
• Well Control During Drilling Operations
• Well Intervention and Workover
• Pressure Control During Well Intervention
• Conclusion.

At the end of each module there is a knowledge check which candidate must successfully complete before moving on to the final exam. If a pass mark of 70% or more is achieved in the final exam candidates will be able to access their online certificate.
